USD Inverted (Upside-Down) Front Forks โ€” Industry-Rare Suspension in the 150cc Motorcycle Price Tier

USD Inverted (Upside-Down) Front Forks โ€” Industry-Rare Suspension in the 150cc Motorcycle Price Tier

The Trail 150 ships standard with USD inverted front forks โ€” a suspension design almost never available on 150cc motorcycles under $1,500. Where every competing 150cc trail-styled motorcycle in this price range ships with conventional telescopic forks, the Trail 150 uses USD forks: greater fork rigidity, reduced unsprung weight, sharper steering feedback, and more precise braking stability. This is the same fork design used on sport bikes and adventure motorcycles costing several times more.

You get sport-bike suspension on an entry-level 150cc motorcycle. No competing model at this price offers USD forks.
149.6cc CVT Automatic โ€” 55+ MPH, Estimated 60โ€“70 MPG, Twist-and-Go Operation

149.6cc CVT Automatic โ€” 55+ MPH, Estimated 60โ€“70 MPG, Twist-and-Go Operation

The Trail 150 runs the proven 149.6cc air-cooled GY6 platform through a CVT automatic transmission. No clutch lever, no gear shifts โ€” twist the throttle and the centrifugal clutch and belt-drive CVT handle all speed transitions. Top speed reaches 55+ MPH depending on rider weight and road grade. Estimated fuel economy of 60โ€“70 MPG from the 1.19-gallon tank delivers approximately 71โ€“83 miles between fill-ups.

Adventure-style street performance with scooter-simple operation. 55+ MPH keeps pace with suburban traffic.
Dual-Start System + All-LED Lighting โ€” Independent Start Redundancy, No Warm-Up Delay

Dual-Start System + All-LED Lighting โ€” Independent Start Redundancy, No Warm-Up Delay

Electric push-button start for everyday riding; independent kick-start backup so a drained 12V battery never strands you. Each system operates on its own โ€” no shared failure point. All-LED headlight, tail light, and turn signals deliver instant full brightness with no halogen warm-up lag and no bulb-replacement maintenance over the life of the motorcycle.

Two separate ways to start. Instant LED visibility. Two of the most common daily-commuter failure modes covered.
Five-Piece Adventure Gear Package Included in the Box โ€” No Separate Accessory Purchases Required

Five-Piece Adventure Gear Package Included in the Box โ€” No Separate Accessory Purchases Required

Every Trail 150 ships with: small windscreen, left and right handguards, headlight protection bracket, rear rack, and footrest rubber pads โ€” all included standard. Competing 150cc trail-styled motorcycles at this price ship bare; these five accessories typically cost $100โ€“$200 when purchased separately. On the Trail 150, they are in the box on day one.

Fully equipped trail setup from day one. No extra spend required. Real dollar-value advantage vs bare competitors.

Rider Fit Guide

Trail 150 Rider Fit Guide
Recommended Age 18 and older (motorcycle license / M-class endorsement required in most U.S. states)
Recommended Height 5'0" to 6'2" (152โ€“188 cm)
Maximum Weight Capacity 330 lb total (rider + cargo, approx. 150 kg)
Suitable Riding Environments City streets, suburban roads, light gravel shoulders โ€” on-road street-legal use in 48 states (not California). Trail-styled chassis with USD forks is more capable on light mixed surfaces than a standard scooter, but not for deep mud, rock crawling, or aggressive off-road use.

We built the Trail 150 for adult daily commuters and entry-level riders who want adventure-style looks and USD fork performance at a 150cc price. The 30.3-inch seat height is accessible to riders from 5'0" to 6'2". The 330 lb total load capacity supports rider plus a backpack or small cargo. The CVT automatic removes the learning curve of a manual clutch for new riders transitioning to motorcycles. Not available in California.

Not Recommended For:

โ€ข For California residents โ€” this vehicle is NOT CARB certified and cannot be legally sold, titled, or operated in California. โ€ข For riders without a motorcycle license โ€” most states require a Class M license or endorsement for a 149.6cc engine capable of 55+ MPH. โ€ข For sustained highway / interstate use above 60 MPH โ€” top speed of 55+ MPH is not suitable for freeway commuting. โ€ข For true off-road riding โ€” the Trail 150 has adventure styling but is a street-legal motorcycle, not a dirt bike; not designed for deep mud, rock crawling, or aggressive trail use. โ€ข For riders who prefer EFI โ€” the Trail 150 uses a PD24J carburetor; consider X-PRO's EFI lineup for cold-weather electronic fuel injection.

Always ensure the vehicle's speed rating, size, and weight capacity are appropriate for the rider's age, size, and experience level. A valid motorcycle license or endorsement is required for public road use in most states. This vehicle is not for sale or use in California.

Key Features
149.6cc 4-Stroke GY6 Engine with Fully Automatic CVT: Twist-and-Go, 55+ MPH, 60โ€“70 MPG Estimated โ€” We built the Trail 150 around the proven 149.6cc air-cooled GY6 engine paired with a fully automatic CVT transmission. Twist the throttle, the centrifugal clutch engages, and the belt-driven CVT handles every speed change โ€” no clutch lever, no gear shifts required. Top speed reaches 55+ MPH depending on rider weight and road grade. The 1.19-gallon fuel tank combined with an estimated 60โ€“70 MPG delivers approximately 71โ€“83 miles of mixed riding between fill-ups.
Upside-Down (USD / Inverted) Front Forks: The Same Premium Suspension Used in Sport Bikes at Much Higher Price Points, Not Found on Any Competing 150cc Motorcycle at This Price โ€” We ship every Trail 150 with USD inverted front forks โ€” a design almost never available on 150cc motorcycles under $1,500. In a USD fork, the larger, stiffer tube is clamped at the triple tree; the thinner slider connects to the front axle. This geometry reduces unsprung weight and provides greater rigidity, sharper steering feedback, and more precise braking stability compared to conventional telescopic forks. Every comparable 150cc motorcycle at this price uses conventional forks. The Trail 150 doesn't.
Dual-Start System + All-LED Lighting: Independent Start Redundancy and Instant Visibility โ€” Every Trail 150 ships with both an electric push-button starter for everyday riding and an independent kick-start backup for cold mornings or a drained 12V battery. Each system operates on its own โ€” a failure in one does not prevent the other from starting the engine. Headlight, tail light, and turn signals are all LED: instant full brightness with no halogen warm-up delay and no replacement bulbs to manage.
Five-Piece Adventure Gear Package Included in the Box: Windscreen, Handguards, Headlight Bracket, Rear Rack, Footrest Pads โ€” No Separate Purchases Required โ€” We include a complete five-piece adventure gear package with every Trail 150: a small windscreen, left and right handguards, a headlight protection bracket, a rear rack, and footrest rubber pads. These five items typically cost $100โ€“$200 as aftermarket accessories on competing 150cc motorcycles that ship bare.
Reliable U.S. Support, Ready Parts: As a licensed U.S. motorcycle dealer with 20+ years in business, two company-operated warehouses in California and Texas, and a dedicated local team, we keep full replacement parts in stock and ready to ship โ€” so help is there when you need it.
Description

Product Definition, Target Rider & Core Value

We designed the X-PRO Trail 150 for adult riders who want adventure-styled street performance at a price that doesn't require choosing between real suspension and real accessories. At $1,229.95, the Trail 150 delivers a combination that no competing 150cc motorcycle at this price matches: upside-down (USD) inverted front forks, a complete five-piece adventure gear package in the box, dual electric and kick start, and all-LED lighting โ€” on an EPA certified, DOT approved street-legal platform for 48 U.S. states.

Riding Experience, Differentiation & Performance

The USD inverted front forks set the Trail 150 apart from the first ride. Every competing 150cc motorcycle at this price ships with conventional telescopic forks. The Trail 150 ships with USD forks โ€” the design standard on sport bikes and adventure motorcycles costing several times more. USD forks place the larger, stiffer tube at the triple clamp, reducing unsprung weight and the effective lever-arm load. The result is greater fork rigidity, sharper steering feedback, and more precise braking stability on city streets and suburban roads.

The 149.6cc 4-stroke air-cooled Xinba GY6 engine delivers 6.2 kW through a CVT automatic transmission โ€” no clutch lever, no gear shifts. Top speed reaches 55+ MPH depending on rider weight and road grade. Estimated fuel economy of 60โ€“70 MPG from the 1.19-gallon tank gives approximately 71โ€“83 miles of mixed riding between fill-ups. Front hydraulic disc brake and rear drum brake. All-LED headlight, tail light, and turn signals. The dual-start system pairs electric push-button start with an independent kick-start backup.

The five-piece adventure gear package is included in every Trail 150 box at no extra charge: small windscreen, left and right handguards, headlight protection bracket, rear rack, and footrest rubber pads. The 30.3-inch seat height is accessible to riders from 5'0" to 6'2". Available in Matte Green, Matte Sand, Black, and Red.

Street Legal Status & Compliance

The Trail 150 is EPA certified and DOT approved for street-legal operation in 48 U.S. states. IMPORTANT: This vehicle is NOT CARB certified โ€” it cannot be legally sold, titled, registered, or operated in California. Most U.S. states classify a 149.6cc engine capable of 55+ MPH as a motorcycle requiring a Class M license or motorcycle endorsement. Check your state DMV before riding. Not designed for sustained highway use above 60 MPH.

Brand Trust & After-Sales Commitment

X-PRO has operated in the U.S. powersports market for over 20 years as a licensed motorcycle dealer. When you buy the Trail 150, you are buying from a dealer with two company-owned warehouses in California and Texas, a dedicated U.S.-based support team, and full OEM replacement parts stocked before the vehicle goes on sale. Frame warranty: 1 year. Parts and battery warranty: 90 days. Support is handled in-house โ€” not routed to an overseas contact form.

Why Buy From Us

Company History

The company behind X-Pro has been operating in the U.S. motorcycle and powersports market for over 20 years. We are a licensed U.S. motorcycle dealer, not a dropshipper or a temporary marketplace seller. Our operations include product sourcing, compliance review, warehousing, fulfillment, after-sales support, and a dedicated parts inventory โ€” all managed in-house from the United States.

The X-Pro Brand

X-Pro was established in 2018 as a dedicated powersports brand, built on over two decades of hands-on experience in the U.S. motorcycle and powersports market. When X-Pro entered the market, the affordable powersports space was largely defined by short-term sellers offering products with no replacement parts, limited after-sales support, and inconsistent quality control. X-Pro was built to bridge that gap.

Why Riders Choose X-Pro

For some buyers, X-Pro is a practical first bike โ€” a more manageable way to start riding without overcommitting on cost. For others, it is a way to get back into powersports without the higher purchase price and repair anxiety that often come with premium-brand machines. X-Pro is built to be Accessible, Supported, and Accountable โ€” dealer-backed operations with local warehousing and direct responsibility.

Warehouses & Fulfillment

We operate two company-owned warehouses โ€” one in California and one in Texas. These are not third-party logistics (3PL) facilities; they are staffed and managed by our own team. Inventory is stored, quality-checked, and shipped directly from these locations, giving us control over packaging, inspection, and delivery timelines across the continental United States.

After-Sales & Warranty

Every complete unit is backed by a manufacturer warranty. Warranty claims and support requests are handled by our U.S.-based team โ€” customers contact us directly and our team has access to inventory systems, warehouse operations, and product records to resolve issues efficiently.

Parts Availability

We maintain a full replacement parts inventory at our U.S. warehouses. Parts are stocked before vehicles are listed โ€” not ordered from overseas after a customer reports an issue. Parts orders ship from the same facilities that handle complete units.

Team

Our team includes warehouse staff, customer support representatives, and technical specialists โ€” all U.S.-based. When you contact us, you reach someone with direct access to our inventory, our warehouse, and your order records.

Before You Buy

1 ยท Stay Connected โ€” We Need to Reach You

After your order ships, our team will contact you by phone and email to coordinate delivery. Answer calls from unfamiliar numbers โ€” our team and your carrier may call from numbers you don't recognize. Check your email daily, including your spam folder, until your vehicle arrives. Without a valid, reachable contact number, your carrier cannot complete delivery. If we cannot reach you, your order may be returned at your expense.

2 ยท Shipping & Delivery โ€” LTL Freight

Your vehicle ships via LTL (Less-than-Truckload) freight from our U.S. warehouse. The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment โ€” make sure your contact information is current. Large freight trucks cannot enter narrow roads or tight residential areas. You must meet the driver at an accessible point, or arrange terminal pickup if needed. Inspect the vehicle carefully before signing the delivery receipt. If damage is found, note it on the receipt and contact us within 24 hours with photos.

3 ยท Assembly & Setup

Professional mechanic assembly is highly recommended. Improper DIY assembly voids safety guarantees and can lead to mechanical failure โ€” incorrect assembly is one of the leading causes of early issues with new vehicles. Regardless of who assembles it, you must tighten all bolts and apply thread-locker (Loctite) before the first ride. Vibration will loosen factory settings during use, causing parts to fall off or break. A basic tool kit is included in the box.

4 ยท Engine Maintenance โ€” Gas Models

Change the engine oil before your first ride โ€” factory fill is a break-in oil not suitable for extended use. Skipping this step is the leading cause of engine seizure on new vehicles. Use fresh 87+ octane fuel only. Do not use high-pressure washers near engine or electrical components. Drain fuel for long-term storage. Store in a dry area.

5 ยท Real-World Performance

Top speed and power output are measured under optimal lab conditions. Actual performance varies based on rider weight, terrain type, road conditions, and ambient temperature. Fuel quality also affects performance โ€” always use 87+ octane fresh gasoline. Riders above 200 lb may notice a reduction in top speed.

6 ยท Storage

For long-term storage (30 days or more), drain the fuel tank and run the carburetor dry โ€” do not store with old fuel as it will gum the carburetor and jets. Disconnect the 12V starter battery if storing for more than 60 days to prevent discharge. Store the vehicle indoors in a dry, temperature-stable environment, covered to protect from dust.

7 ยท Safety & Rider Requirements

This vehicle is designed for riders age 18 and older. A valid driver's license or motorcycle endorsement is required to operate this vehicle on public roads โ€” most U.S. states classify a 149.6cc engine capable of 55+ MPH as a motorcycle requiring a Class M license. IMPORTANT: This vehicle is NOT CARB certified and cannot be legally sold, titled, registered, or operated in California. Always wear a properly fitted, approved helmet and appropriate protective gear โ€” helmet is not included. Maximum total load capacity (rider + cargo) is 330 lb โ€” do not exceed.

8 ยท Break-in Period

We recommend a break-in period for the first 3โ€“5 hours of riding (approximately 200โ€“300 miles). During this period, avoid sustained full-throttle operation and vary your speed to allow the engine and drivetrain components to seat properly. After break-in, perform an oil change and re-inspect and re-tighten all bolts.

Support Center & Resources
FAQ
What is included in the warranty?
The frame carries a 1-year warranty for structural defects. Non-wear parts carry a 90-day warranty. The starter battery is also 90 days. Wear items โ€” tires, brake pads, drive belt, bulbs โ€” and damage from accidents, misuse, or unauthorized modifications are not covered.
Where can I buy spare parts and get technical support?
OEM parts for the Trail 150 are stocked in our U.S. warehouses in California and Texas โ€” not ordered from overseas after a problem is reported. U.S.-based phone and email support available through xprousa.com.
Is the Trail 150 street legal? Can it be registered in California?
The Trail 150 is EPA Certified and DOT Approved for street-legal use in 48 U.S. states. IMPORTANT: it is NOT CARB Certified and cannot be legally sold, titled, registered, or operated in California. For all other states, the Manufacturer Statement of Origin (MSO) and Bill of Sale are mailed via USPS separately after the motorcycle ships โ€” both are required at your DMV for title and license plates.
Do I need a motorcycle license to ride the Trail 150?
In most U.S. states, yes. A 149.6cc engine capable of 55+ MPH classifies the Trail 150 as a motorcycle requiring a Class M license or motorcycle endorsement. Always verify your specific state DMV requirements before riding on public roads.
Is the Trail 150 a motorcycle or a moped/scooter?
The Trail 150 is classified as a motorcycle, not a moped or scooter. It has a motorcycle frame, straddle-seat riding position, trail-styled bodywork, and requires a motorcycle (M-class) endorsement in most U.S. states. The CVT automatic transmission makes it approachable for beginners who don't want to learn manual clutch operation.
What is the top speed and fuel economy?
Top speed is 55+ MPH depending on rider weight and road grade. Estimated fuel economy is 60โ€“70 MPG from the 1.19-gallon tank, giving an estimated 71โ€“83 miles of mixed-use riding between fill-ups. Heavier riders, sustained high-speed riding, and hilly terrain will reduce both figures.
What does 'Upside-Down Front Forks' (USD) mean and why does it matter?
An upside-down (USD) or inverted fork reverses the conventional telescopic design: the thicker, stiffer tube is clamped at the top (triple tree) and the thinner slider connects to the front axle. This reduces unsprung weight and places the structural load at the stiffer end, producing greater fork rigidity, sharper steering feedback, and more precise braking stability. No competing 150cc motorcycle at this price ships with USD forks.
Does the Trail 150 use a carburetor or fuel injection?
The Trail 150 uses a PD24J carburetor โ€” no electronic fuel injection. Advantages: simple to service, inexpensive to replace, and parts widely available. Annual cleaning is recommended, especially after winter storage. The kick-start backup is particularly useful for cold starts.
What adventure/trail accessories come in the box?
The Trail 150 ships with a complete five-piece adventure gear package: small windscreen, left and right handguards, headlight protection bracket, rear rack, and footrest rubber pads โ€” all included in the box at no extra charge. No separate accessory purchases are required to start riding with a full trail setup.
What is the seat height and what is the maximum load capacity?
Seat height is 30.3 inches โ€” one of the lower seat heights in the entry-level street motorcycle category, accessible to adult riders from approximately 5'0" to 6'2". The manufacturer-specified maximum load capacity is 330 lb (rider + cargo, approx. 150 kg).
How much assembly is required and how long does it take?
The Trail 150 ships 85% pre-assembled inside a reinforced metal crate. Assembly items: front wheel, headlight protection bracket, rear rack, front fender, small windscreen, footrest rubber pads, handguards, handlebar clamp, mirrors, battery, and balance weights. Tool kit included. Estimated assembly time is 45โ€“60 minutes.
Can the Trail 150 be used for light off-road riding?
The Trail 150 is a street-legal motorcycle with adventure / trail styling โ€” it is NOT a dedicated off-road dirt bike. The USD forks and upright riding position make it more capable on light gravel roads than a standard scooter, but it is not designed for deep mud, steep rocky trails, jumps, or aggressive off-road riding.
What colors are available?
The Trail 150 is available in four colors: Matte Green, Matte Sand, Black, and Red. Note that actual paint may vary slightly from screen display.
Does the Trail 150 come with title paperwork for registration?
Yes. The Manufacturer Statement of Origin (MSO) and Bill of Sale are mailed via USPS separately from the motorcycle after shipment โ€” typically within 1โ€“2 weeks. Both documents are required at your state DMV to obtain title and license plates. Store them safely.
How does the Trail 150 compare to the X-PRO Navy 150?
The X-PRO Navy 150 and Trail 150 share a similar platform (149.6cc CVT, EPA+DOT, CARB=No). The Trail 150 has USD (inverted) front forks, windscreen, handguards, headlight protection bracket, and adventure-style matte colors. The Navy 150 has conventional telescopic forks and standard street styling.

Visual fit guide is for reference only. Actual fit may vary based on inseam, footwear, riding posture, and suspension sag.

Every X-Pro complete vehicle is covered by a Limited Warranty: โ€ข Frame: 1-year warranty against structural defects โ€ข Parts: 90-day warranty against manufacturing defects โ€ข Battery: 90-day warranty Exclusions: Normal wear items (tires, brake pads, drive belts, bulbs, batteries), damage from accidents, misuse, or unauthorized modifications.
